Spacious new two-story floor plan is introduced at Walnut Glen in Island Lake

Expansive plan will be a model home, open for viewing in December

ISLAND LAKE, IL –October 23, 2006 – To further expand the array of single-family home designs being offered at Walnut Glen, Residential Homes of America, Inc. (RHA) has announced that it is introducing the 3,483-square-foot Sycamore, priced from $369,990.

Walnut Glen, a scenic community planned for 222 single-family homes on sites of one-fourth acre, is attracting home buyers who are seeking a natural setting of pristine beauty and outstanding values starting under $300,000 for homes that include full basements, central air conditioning and no SSA special assessments.

Base prices range from $296,990 to $369,990, and preconstruction pricing is still in effect. In addition, buyers who purchase through RHA preferred lenders can take $5,000 off the price of the options when they purchase before the end of November.

"Walnut Glen offers home buyers an impressive list of advantages, and one of these is the wide selection of available floor plans," said Ann Danner, president of Residential Homes of America, Inc. (RHA). "The Sycamore is being added as our largest home, and will include four bedrooms and a den or optional fifth bedroom with adjacent full bath. This is a home that is perfect for an active family or one that has a live-in parent."

Set in the scenic McHenry County countryside, Walnut Glen will appeal to those who enjoy a rural setting that will remain undeveloped far into the future. Recent purchases of forest preserve and public recreation land is expanding the naturally beautiful open space around Walnut Glen to 3,073 acres. In addition, walking and bicycling paths enable residents to access two park areas, and the Lake County Forest Preserve district’s Millennium Trail will pass through Walnut Glen and connect to the McHenry County Illinois Trail System, which is almost complete and will extend from Lake Michigan to the Mississippi River.

The Sycamore, which will be one of five model homes scheduled for a December opening, is one of nine home designs, including a ranch plan with 1,909 square feet of living space. The two-story plans range in size from 2,201 to 3,483 square feet of space, with three or four bedrooms, 2 ˝ to 3 ˝ baths, mud rooms, full basements and two- and three-car attached garages. Several plans offer first-floor dens, first and second-floor family rooms and second-floor laundry rooms.

"The homes at Walnut Glen are truly an outstanding value," Danner said. "Not only do buyers save thousands of dollars in SSA taxes but they receive in the price of the home many deluxe features that are priced as options with other area builders."

These features include nine-foot first-floor ceilings; central air conditioning; full basements; choice of ceramic or wood floors in foyers and powder rooms; volume or vaulted ceilings per plan; painted interior millwork package; kitchens with furniture-quality 42-inch upper cabinets, islands or peninsulas per plan, pantry cabinets per plan, choice of no-wax sheet vinyl flooring and decorator selected laminate countertops, stainless-steel double-bowl sinks, and brand name appliances; master bedrooms with volume ceilings; and master baths with cultured marble vanity tops, double-bowl vanities, volume ceilings per plan, ceramic tile and oversized soaking tubs in with separate showers per plan; pedestal sinks in powder rooms; and a variety of energy-saving features. Traditional, American Farmhouse and other classic exteriors ensure a varied streetscape, and the homes boast varied brick and siding colors, rooflines with gables and porches plus professional landscaping packages.

The new Sycamore combines dramatic architecture with the space and other design features that today’s families appreciate. A soaring two-story foyer opens to a formal living room and adjacent dining room defined by columns and a central staircase reflects the angled approach to the two-story family room and kitchen. The kitchen features a corner sink and windows, walk-in pantry, island with breakfast bar and large breakfast nook with sliding glass doors to the yard. Buyers may opt for a bay window in the breakfast nook and an optional gourmet kitchen with built-in oven.

Tucked away on the other side of the family room is the den and a large laundry room and powder room are also located in this secluded area, creating a private place to exercise the option of having a main-level bedroom with an optional full bath.

Highlights of the second floor include an opulent master bedroom with double-door entry, tray ceiling, large his and hers walk-in closets and spacious compartmented bath with soaking tub, separate shower and double vanities. Three other bedrooms, two of which include walk-in closets, are served by a hall bath with double-bowl vanities. Buyers may also opt for a three-car garage.
